Welcome to the Codfather, the second shop we opened in 1999. Based in Hedge End we are known in the area for our quality and presentation of freshly prepared Fish & Chips, winning many awards, finishing in the top 5 of the Fish and Chip Shop of the year competition many times. At The Codfather, family and flavour are more important to us than just fish and chips! Being a close family-owned business, every mouthful demonstrates our devotion to authenticity. Operating six days a week, The Codfahter also extends its culinary expertise to cater for large functions. Staff are always friendly. Nice to see a place where the staff can have a laugh with each other and still get the job done effectively. Food is always still piping hot by the time we get home. Loyalty card is a great scheme too.

Workers were extremely polite and patient while I decided what I wanted of their extensive menu, I decided on the burger after much deliberation and this was a feast for my taste buds let me tell you, I’ve come to expect little from a burger from a chip shop but this has blown any other chip shop burger into sheer irrelevance for me.the pickled egg i also purchased was by far the best I have come across in my 16 years of life, only to be described as Pickled to perfection. Would definitely eat from here again. Staff are excellent and extremely friendly

Best fish and chips in the area. Batter is crisp and non greasy and whilst I often get tummy ache from the ingredients used by other chippies, it never happens when buying food here...all fresh ingredients. Polite staff and quick service
