Established in 1988, J-Henrys proudly anchors itself in the heart of Hedge End Village, Southampton. With over 31 years of dedicated service, our establishment has won several prestigious awards, including the regional runner-up title in the esteemed Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition. Meet The Management
Sonny started at J-Henry’s at age 11 but had been in the shop in a pram since he was born.
“If you cut me open, fish & chips would probably fall out!”
Fish and chips is all he has ever done, and he has enjoyed serving the customers at J-Henry’s for over 20 years. Customers have also enjoyed seeing Sonny’s journey grow from a young boy to a man, now married to Danielle and has 3 kids of his own.
Sonny more recently has grown the social media platforms and amassed millions of views around the world, has featured on TV various times, and newspapers and taken J-Henry’s from strength to strength.

Daniel Hoare Started in Fish and Chips as a chip boy on 1st August 1986, was frying and running shift two years later. Have had a long and varied career in fish and chips, joined J Henrys a year ago, and still getting a buzz out of cooking premium quality food.
Shane first started his journey in fish and chips in 1979 at the age of just 14, working in Ashford, Middlesex, at Pisces Fish and Chips, which later changed to Jack’s Fish and Chips. Shane then worked his way up to manager of the shop.
Shane and Beverley lived upstairs of the fish and chip shop in Ashford with two small children (John and Ellie); then they were given the opportunity to move to Southampton at the age of 23 in 1988, and that was when J-Henry‘s fish and chips end was born.
Shane and Beverley’s mantra has always been good service in a clean environment and, of course, top-quality fish and chips. And that has been something implemented in all of the 6 Southampton Fish and Chip stores!
